The reason I ask is I remember the show, including the switch to modern time but I would have been 4 at the time it came on. I seem to remember beeing about 8ish so it would have been early 70s. Does anyone else remember a run at that time period.
shareI don't, and I was a teenager then. I absolutely loved the show -- my parents hated it, they thought it was the dumbest thing they had ever seen. I haven't seen it since its' original run. But oh that theme song! I still remember it.
shareI only saw one or two episodes before it was yanked off the air back in '67, I think. I was only 12 at the time, and while I hated sit-coms even then, I found this one goofy enough to appreciate. Early "Mork from Ork" in reverse, although not quite as brilliant as Williams by a long shot.

lol - we used to say that too! I cant recall when i saw this show. I dont know when it got a run on Aussie tv, but i didnt see it in 66-67 as i was only 3 or 4. It must have got a re-run circa 70-71.
I think this show was ahead of its time. IF it came out closer to the moon landing, i think it might have done better.
I was reminded of this show today as Gilligan's Island was just on tv this cold Sunday morning.
This show should get the full dvd treatment. One of the most overlooked shows in history.
Hi corg37 - I was in the show in question. We made the show in 1966 in Studio City, Los Angeles CA. In 1968 I lived in Perth W.A. where my mother was from (war Bride) It's About TIme did show there in 1969. Because the program was distributed on 16mm film internationally, there is no way of telling what the local stations did with their copies and may have run them quite a lot over the years. It was only shown in the U.S. during it's initial release and the summer rerun the same year. I played the caveboy on the show - Breer. - Later - Pat Cardi

I do recall they came back, and either brought or landed with some TV-style hill dewellers. A teaser commercial had our duo in plain clothes, with a stunned mountain William pointing at a television set and shouting in amazement that there was 'Á MIDGET IN THAT THERE BOX!!!!'

has been popping into my head periodically for nearly fifty years. I was about 7 when this show was on, and loved it without reservation for the first run. When they came back to Earth, eh...not so much.

To this obvious question,"It's About Time" did not get pick up for a second season. It was canceled after 26 episodes with the final episode of the series titled "The Stowaway" that aired on April 2, 1967.
Secondly,the show was on Sunday nights on CBS,after "Lassie".
And had some tough competition when it went up against "The Wonderful World of Disney",and "Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea",that killed it in the ratings.
The show that replaced "It's About Time" for CBS' Sunday night schedule for the 1967-1968 season was another animal friendly/action-adventure series titled "Gentle Ben",that was produced by Ivan Tors and starred Dennis Weaver and Clint Howard.
During the 1970's,it came back in repeats for national syndication from half of the decade,while "Gilligan's Island" ran continously in repeats for the next three decades in syndication and on cable(TBS, TNT, and The Hallmark Channel).
