The picture quality of those dvds are atrocious and badly cropped too. The only other decent Hornet on dvd is the release of the lackustre 45 minute documentary The Immortal Bruce Lee. As far as i'm aware this is only available in the UK on a budget label, however it's bursting with Green Hornet outakes (cock ups, unchanged day for night shots and extended fight scenes)and screen tests.
shareI made my own set from VHS copies I taped when Encore ran them a couple of years ago.

find out who owns the rights and start writing letters and emails to them requesting a official DVD release.
I'd assume the TV channels that have shown the show in the last 12 years own the rights be it FX channel (Fox Extended Networks) or Encore/Starz Action Channel
did 20th Century Fox produced the series
or was it William Dozier and his Greenway Productions?

American Broadcasting Company ABC originally showed the show.
I will say that this is more likely to get released on to DVD before the Batman TV series does due to it's Warnors vs Fox rights issue. see tvshowsondvd.com

antimusick,
"find out who owns the rights and start writing letters and emails to them requesting a official DVD release."
Green Hornet inc. (www.thegreenhornet.com) owns the character while 20th Century Fox owns the show (see below).
"did 20th Century Fox produced the series
or was it William Dozier and his Greenway Productions?"
Both. The shown was done by Dozier/Greenway for 20th Century Fox on ABC-tv.
Please write to www.foxhome.com as per your suggestion. They did the show, so they own it.
By the way the '74 movie was released on dvd,
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/releaseinfo.cfm?ReleaseID=430
feel free to skip it: it's 4 episodes with extraneous fights seences badly edited.
Hope that clears things up.
I got a 2DVD Set for around $12 bux, they are bootlegs but very nice quality of the rebroadcasts, considering the amount of eps, also has the Batman Crossovers. http://www.atlantictradingdvd.com/
