Anyone notice?

In this Green Hornet tv series, the Green Hornet, like all superheroes; has a code against killing. However, the Green Hornet and Kato break this code when they feel they have to.

Similar to how Batman and Robin and the A-Team never killed anyone directly, there actions sometimes did.

reply

No Batman and A-Team never killed anyone at all. The Green Hornet and Kato, *did* kill people on occasion.

In Adam West's show I recall only one person getting killed. A girl fell into his "atomic pile" (whatever that was) but that was more of an accident. In the 1st two Tim Burton Batman movies, he killed lots of guys. The Green Hornet and Kato occasionally killed too, but all the guys that got knocked off really deserved it. Same what Batman did. In Mission Impossible they set up lots of guys to get killed too.

reply

Yes, in the pilot of the Batman tv series, Molly falls into the atomic pile accidentally. The movies are very different. In the Green Hornet, the Green Hornet and Kato actually kill people. Mission Impossible the IMF set villians up to be killed or exposed.

Saw a Mission Impossible a couple of weeks ago where Rollin killed two men. The scene had Rollin in the female criminal's apartment after she called her two henchmen. When the henchmen entered the apartment, Rollin went down on one knee and took the two of them out without getting shot by either.

Which M:I episode is that? Rollin is slick. Anyways, the Green Hornet and Kato do kill people on occasions.

Both the A-Team and Batman have killed o their shows. While the A-Team have shot off countless rounds of machine gun ammunition at villians without actually hitting them, there was at least one episode that showed a flashback to Viet-Nam where they were killing the enemy. During the first two episodes of "Batman" ( Hi Diddle Riddle/Smack In The Middle ) he kills the Riddler. Batman clearly yells out that the gas will blow the riddler to kingdom come and then ignites it. Presumably the Riddler was killed in the explosion, but turns up again four weeks later. Riddlers sidekick Molly is also killed during the episode, but after trying to escape from Batman she falls into the Batcave's nuclear reactor. The show's producers had no idea that guest stars would be returning and on the initial episode was clearly killing off villains. From that moment on the network did not allow fatalities on the series with exception to Catwoman who fell to certain death twice, once off the roof of a warehouse into the West River, another down a bottomless chasm in a cave. But in the 60's Batman movie which was the same cast and producer Batman unintentionally kills a bunch of the Penguins hinchmen, once when he throws a henchmen into a boobytrap that launches him out a window and onto an exploding octopus. Four or five others are killed in the Batcave. The Penguin had snuck them in by dehydrating them but rehydrated them with heavy water. They all exploded when Batman and Robin punched them.
