Show probably ended at the right time

The last 2 episodes, in which a mad doctor & his hentchmen pretend to be from Outer Space, was pretty silly. If that's where the show was headed, it's probably best it ended when it did.

That only happened because it was already failing in the ratings. Had the show done well, they never would have changed course and delivered the completely disconnected Invasion From Outer Space as a last ditch effort to appeal in any way possible. So no, it need not have ended with one season. It was just a case of not having caught on with audiences enough to matter.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

At least Casey had more to do in the Invasion from Space episodes than before.

On the other hand, there is very little of Scanlon and no Mike Axford at all.

BTW, I have no doubt that this two-parter was included in the 1974 Bruce Lee-mania inspired feature film re-edit just because of the scene where Dr. Mabouse captures our heroes, and after talking a bit with the Hornet turns to his associate and says (IIRC exactly), "And this can only be Kato!" Which was wrong of course, as Kato was his civilian name; his masked identity had no name at all. They did slip on this later in this same episode and, completely separately and therefore more significantly, once in "Beautiful Dreamer Part 2." It also happened in both Batman appearances, which weren't compatible with each other anyway.
