A few years back The Film Journal listed the project with stars George Clooney as Hornet and Jet lei as Kato, but I've read nothing since.

Dudes,

reality check. The movie died this time last year. Time to move on.

e t i,

well said! :-) lol!

Yes e t i I have a shread of hope, sure, but a small one ...

However, I am faced with the harsh reality that this is dead for many reasons ... but bottom line, this project has not at *any* film studio for a *year*. Dudes are acting like it's moiving foward when in fact there is nothing *to* move ... gets me more cranky than I already am I guess ..

That's good that Kevin backed out, he couldn't direct a good movie first chance he got.

reply

yeah, I heard that he had no clue about the Green Hornet. But the point is moot as this no longer anywhere.

reply

"moot as this no longer anywhere. "

Uhhh... Could u explain yoself a bit better? It could be just a typo though.

reply

Sure. What I was saying was that it does not matter if Kevin Smith is involved or not, (he's not, good thing too) because the movie no longer *exists*. There is no movie, period. The movie option expired last year, and was not picked up by any studio. Clear enough?

reply

That's too bad that noone picked up the movie, but I didn't understand what you meant cause of yo typo, clear enough foe ya?

reply

Considering you've made more typos than I; I wouldn't talk. There is no movie. Died last year.

reply

No u souldn't talk. What typos iz u talkin bout? Lm@o.

Was just wondering the same thing at work today. Something will probably come up soon. From the other replies it looks like nothing is happening right now but its too good a show not to movie-phy, if you will. Its getting to the point that most who would remember it are getting older so I hope they do something soon.

reply

Yeah you would think another studio would have picked this up by now but nobody has.

reply

George Clooney should play the green hornet.

Bollocks to a Green Hornet movie. Odds are high that they'd mess it up, anyway. I'd kill to see another GH comic, though. Now's interpretation of the character was almost godly.

reply

There is no Green Hornet movie. Died last year, and it's still dead. I liked Now Comics's Green Hornet a lot myself. No plans for a new comic either.

Universal had the rights from '91 - '01. After spending 10 million and mo movie they let the rights expire. GREENHORNETTHEMOVIE.COM
Does not lead to any where.

Mirimax had the rights from '01 - '05. View Askew is a part of that. Neither
THEGREENHORNETMOVIE.COM GREENHORNET-MOVIE.COM lead to anywhere

Disney which fully owns Mirimax since '05 has
GREENHORNETTHEMOVIE.COM
which leads to articles from last year.

Not so interesting. I've said it before, I'll say it again, the Green Hornet movie died last year. Just as well as Kevin Smith was way over his head.

So, while these domians may be ownewd by the varoius parties, not much had been done them. It's dead.

There already was a Green Hornet film made in 1994, starring Chin Ka Lok and Lam Ching Ying. To say it isn't very true to the source material would be an understatment. However Chin Ka Lok is a very respectable replacement to Lee, he's one of Hong Kong's finest stunt men. The only other person capable of taking such a role is Jet Li and he's getting on a bit besides the fact he is unwilling to take such a role now.

reply

scuba steve, yes I have a copy of the Chinese Green Hornet movie. The less said about that the better.

Jet Li was involved with Universal in the late '90's when the had the rights. He had a pay-or-play contract to play Kato. In other words, he got 5.2 million $s to do nothing.

ONE MORE TIME ...

Universal had the rights from '91 - '01. Miramax had the rights from '01 - '05.
No one picked it up. That's it.

Since Seth Rogen is a druggie by his own admission, and Van Williams a former police officer, I often wonder why Van (or any other active police officer) didn't bust Seth Rogen like a balloon. Now *that* I would have seen!

reply

[deleted]

Ah. Refusal to face facts about Seth Rogen being a druggie I see. Seth Rogen brought the well-deserved hatred on himself when he announced his involvement and insulted Green Hornet fans with that announcement, and for the next 2 years by claiming that Green Hornet fan-dom didn't exist, then sucked up to them and had to wonder why Green Hornet fans were mad. The result: GHINO is a BOMB!

reply

[deleted]

Re-read my previous comment. He brought the hatred of true Green Hornet fans upon himself.

reply

[deleted]

So you finally admidt that Seth Rogen got what he had coming to him? About time as he made every mistake in the book. Michel Gondry didn't help either.

reply

[deleted]

Purist? Sure.

Disgusting? What's disgusting about telling the *truth* about Seth Rogen, Michel Gondry, Neal Moritz, Sony and GHINO ?

Oh that's right you can't handle that. Too bad! Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry got what was coming to them, and GHINO is a BOMB.

Don't hold your breath for a sequel Sony has already decided otherwise. On the other hand, a reboot is entirely possible someday.
