The proof of that was when she broke her leg and that was written into the show so she could continue playing Buffy. I also heard that she was relieved when the show ended because she got tired of acting. She did audition for The Exorcist, but that went to Linda Blair. Too bad she died so young.

From reading her interviews in magazines during the show, I got the idea that Anissa was over it after the first season but it went on and on for her. She mentioned she loved it when the show wasn't filmed so she could go to school and be with her friends. It's too bad they made a child work with a broken leg and by the last season she was just morose. I wonder if her stage mother ever had reflections on how she contributed to make her child's life so miserable, and she ended up with two kids dead from drugs.
