Alain Delon is so good looking it's hard to focus on the plot

Alain Delon hit the genetic jackpot. What an insanely good looking man

He's wearing a gallon of make-up for this role. And I'm sure the 'ragazzi d'Italia' aren't happy at his accent.

A gallon of makeup or not, Alain is (was) one of the most beautiful men in the history of cinema.

I concur

Alain Delon is my only reason to watch this
I was so young when I saw this at the movies and fell madly in love with him

and always wondered how Shirley MacLaine liked working with him

reply

True true, he is groin-grindingly sexy, him with that Roller, the sea, sunsets and throw in some bottles of bubbly and that would be heaven!

it is on again today and I am taping it just to see him once again lol

Are you CRAZY?!?!? For 99% of women who saw this film, it was definitely Art Carney's swayve and debawn-air presence that they couldn't get enough of.

reply

He's definitely very good looking but what's with his makeup here, especially his first scene? We've seen in many films his dark brown tan but here it looked like just brown cake makeup, not natural. What's up with that? Was it filmed during winter and he lost his tan? Lol!

Also, did anyone notice that his entire outfit was very 60s, I mean no socks and soft shoes? His segment was set in the 30s no? Another thing, for someone so poor, his outfit sure looked expensive, was his shirt silk?

reply

I barely even noticed him because he was usually standing next to Shirley MacLaine who was at the peak of her sexiness. Her pheromones were coming through the screen and time.

As a straight man, I think of other men's appearance more in terms of "would I want to look like that guy?" Of the men in this movie, my first choice, if I could look like someone else, would be Rex Harrison, especially the way he looked as the captain in "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". Second choice would be George C. Scott. Finally, believe it or not, I would rather look like Art Carney than a prettyboy like Delon.
