Beautiful Boredom.
Like All Bava films, some of the most breath taking beauty of cinematography hand by hand with slooooow deadly boring movies. Watch this at night and you WILL fall asleep, guaranteed.

Um...what? Antonioni, Fellini, even Leone, I can see calling boring, but Bava?
What's the Spanish for drunken bum?
Fellini and Leone Boring? You got it pretty mixed up...
Is that a signature or a real question?
No no no, I'm not saying I think they're boring (I definitely do not, especially Leone), I'm just saying I can see how someone could think they are. Bava on the other hand makes taut little thrillers for the most part, so I don't really see any of his movies as being boring. Well, any of the good ones anyway. Knives of the Avenger was kind of a slog to get through. However, if you're looking for a change of pace with Bava, you should check out Rabid Dogs.

I would kind of agree. I still enjoyed it, but it did get boring at times.
"No man is just a number"
Speak for yourself, pal. This supremely creepy and unsettling sci-fi/horror wnner kept me completely engrossed from start to finish.
"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"
I am speaking for my self of course...since i am the one saying this.
For who else was i gonna speak?
I wish more movies were this boring.
shareI have just watched this, because I wanted to see the film that influenced my favourite of all films; Alien.
I find PotV not a bad film but quite a chore to watch all the way through. Whilst some of it was quite tense and claustrophobic it also, at times, felt like a mish-mash of ideas. As does a lot of sci-fi from that era. Some of the plot devices are illogical and of course the film cannot match the parsimonious design of Alien, although the influences seem clear.
Have Scott or OBannon ever acknowledged these influences?
Ben
I have this movie on DVD and watch it late at night about twice a year. It never fails to creep me out and NEVER bores me. Saw and Hostel bore me to tears.
