Remake

They should totally remake this movie. I haven't seen it but with a title like that who can resist. I can see it already, Samuel L. JAckson in the lead roll. "I've had it with these Mother*****ng vampires on this Mother*****ng planet!"

Well, OP is retarded, but I do think this could be remade. This is actually one where they could massively improve it due to modern special effects, and a better script. They should try to keep the look and feel close to the original though. They would def have to keep the stylin outfits for the crew though.

Well, I just watched Planet of the Vampires, and while it was enjoyable as a period-piece, I honestly think a re-make would only serve to draw negative comparisons with Alien:

1. Mysterious signal from an unknown planet
2. Skeletal remains of an alien crew
3. Parasitic alien(s) trying to get off planet

(At this point, I'd like to point out that I do know that Planet of the Vampires is formally listed as having influenced Alien - I'm just saying that a remake of the original would be derided as "copying" Ridley Scott's homage.)

Now on the other hand, if you were going to remake it as a camp version of the original, down to the super-S&M-all-leather-catsuits and Star Trek: Original Series backgrounds and control rooms... hmmm... and I would ABSOLUTELY insist on keeping the exact ending, with grainy film footage and everything...

how can we make the "remake" people on these boards go to another planet? I'd contribute money.

IF it weren't for Planet... and It: The Terror From Beyond Space (conveniently never seen by O'Bannon or Scott; I call *beep* there would be no Alien.

It's only my opinion. Climb down.
