The spirit of Ma Elder was evident in her rocker. The first time John hung his gun up before he went to town while he watched the rocker. The end of the movie when Justice prevailed, the rocker was moving as though her spirit was satisfied.

I hate to bust your bubble, but watch John Wayne as he goes by...he pushes the rocker and causes it to rock.
