I found out recently that The character Katie Elder in this movie was actually the prostitute and mistress of Doc Holiday known as Big Nose Kate. White washed for this movie though.

Since the Katie Elder in this movie was married to a guy named Bass Elder from 1850 til his death in 1898 and Mary Katherine "Big Nosed Kate" "Kate Fisher" Harony was living (on & off) with John Henry "Doc" Holliday in Texas, Kansas, New Mexico & Arizona from approximately 1875 to 1882 it's probably a different Katie Elder.
