Anybody feared there might be a eel appearing from the sink or bath ?

Am I the only one who got a bit stressed by the anecdote the sister read in the newspaper about a eel appearing out of a sink ? They even told the story twice and appeared to find it funny.

Since it is a movie with a rotting rabit and a variety of unpleasant hallucinations, I thought poor Carole might imagine this during an anguished night.

And they kept on showing her bending over the sink !!!! Or the bath. Erk!

Anyone agree Polanski made it on purpose ?

Also, the discomfort you feel at the idea of seeing a eel appear from the middle of the sink, direct from the pipe might be similar to the girl's repulsion of men ?
