I hope they bring back Flint in an updated fashion like with Bond

It's really too bad that there were only two Flint movies made--this really should have become a franchise A LA James Bond. And though it is a spoof/sendup of Bond, Bond itself is like that at times. Austin Powers is just a potty-mouthed, gross-out Flint WANNABE in my opinion!!!

Sherry Lansing was a really big 'Flint' fan and years ago, in the late seventies or early eighties, she wanted to hear from Flint fans and hoped to generate another Flint movie with Coburn. Obviously, nothing happened.

I love both Flint films and wish Fox had gone thru with the rumored "Bride of Flint" sequel back in 1968. However, I would not want 20th Century-Fox to bring back a modernized version of the character. Flint belongs in the 1960s and no actor other than the late James Coburn could do the character justice. Any attempts to update the character to today's times would take away what makes Flint Flint. Thankfully, we can time a trip back in time every time we pop a Flint flick in our DVDs/VCRs and enjoy both flicks as fun time capsules of another era.

I think Flint would be a really good remake provided they cast the right actor and keep the movie's distinctive style and flavor and not veer too much toward one side(not to serious and not too silly). That is a huge problem many hollywood remakes have today which is why alot of them bomb. If a true flint fan or someone who really got and appreciated the film remade it, It would be a thing of beauty

I just can't imagine anyone playing Derek Flint but James Coburn.

Wasn't there a TV movie called 'Our Man Flint: Dead on Target'(1976) with Ray Danton as Derek Flint?

Finding someone to play Flint is a lot harder than finding a new Bond. You've got to be both funny and cool, and you also have to know how to do martial arts with style, plus you've got to be pencil slim. It would have to have a very big budget, and like the post above, have someone who is a real Flint fan to give it a shot.

They screw up far more "re-imagined" things than they get right. When I was younger I used to think that way, "I hope they remake X" or "What if they made Y into a movie?". These days it's the opposite. I just hope they don't mess up any more of my fond memories. They've ruined every comic I ever read, most songs, even Dr Suess is no longer what it once was. They have remade every halfway popular asian horror movie in the last 10-15 years and not a single on is better than the original. The off chance they'll "get it right" or, even more implausible, IMPROVE on a concept is simply not worth it to me. It's almost like money corrupts what seems a good idea.

Nope, I'm fine with Flint the way he is. I also find it funny that you claim Coburn does "martial arts with style". Just thinking of him karate chopping the guards in the hallway gets me hysterical. Classic.

it could maybe work, but two things....

1.it would HAVE to be set in the 60's

2. they would have to find an actor as cool as James Coburn and that wouldn't be easy

back in 98 I did a titty comedy for Skinemax. Sex Camp, ya remember it?
