There was actually a 0008 spy spoof series of novels, adult-themed (but not porn as it was the mid-60s and still taboo...but they do come close). Some of the titles include "Our Man From Sadisto", "Our Girl From Mephisto", "Sadisto Royale", "Naughtypus", "For Your Sighs Only", etc. In the books, 0008 makes reference to 007, Spectre, etc. I've always imagined the 0008 in the Flint movie was the only appearance of the 0008 from the Clyde Allison novels.

I recall a Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen comic where he goes to the movies and sees agent .0008 or .0007 (the "." was the writer's not me),or something like that. In the story Jimmy acts like a spy with gadgets.

As I understand it, the drug trade was where Galaxy got their financial support, so, in a way, 0008 was already working on the same case, but from a different angle.
