Dr. Schneider and Dr. Wu

Watching the new DVD, I just caught a really subtle gag -- if you listen carefully to the dialogue, the Asian scientist is referred to as Dr. Schneider, while one of the Caucasians is called Dr. Wu. I love that no one calls attention to the joke or tries to explain it.

Yeh. Notice that Flint plays it straight. "Seriously" an Asian can have a Caucasian name and vice-versa.

In the scene, however, Dr. Wu bows as some asians will, will Dr. Schneider shakes hands as a westerner.

Also, they are both introduced at the same time without revealing which is which. Flint know anyway for some reason. What a genius!!

In looking up the credits, I was confused as to why actor Benson Fong was *not* credited as playing Dr. Wu. Yes, I guess it was a gag.

There's nothing subtle about it, it's a very obvious gag.

That's interesting. I have only seen this once, but I would like to revisit it again to more closely examine it for things just like this!

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
