0008 and SPECTRE

How did Fox get away with using "Agent 0008" and even directly referencing SPECTRE(which Galaxy was allegedly bigger than)? I figure Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman/United Artists would've taken legal action for that.

I watched the scene yesterday and it was a good natured plug for the James Bond trademark. I loved how 0008 resembled James Bond. Plus we all know which franchise was the money winner, so maybe they just laughed it off like the rest of us.

Because parody and satire are considered "Fair Use" and as such not considered copyright infringement. This movie is a send-up of the James Bond franchise which was launched only 4 years earlier with Dr No.
