Plot summary
I missed the begining of this movie so maybe Brandos character role was given right away but if not isn't the plot summary given here a spoiler?
shareBrando is a German expatriot living well in India when he is approached by Trevor Howard, a British runner of spies. Howard either threatens to have him shipped back to Germany or throw him in jail--I can't remember exactly which--if he doesn't accept an assignment to ship out on a German freighter, loaded with rubber, from Japan to the Reich.
Is this where you came in, when Brando is in Japan?

I think Trevor Howard threatened to have him parachuted into Germany as part of a prisoner exchange. Once there, the Gestapo would do their thing.
