Similarities between Mirage and Three Days of the Condor

Has anyone noticed this? Even though only one film conserns itself with amnesia, both films are eerily close in character development and plot points. For example, both films have key scenes in an alleyway involving characters being shot at, but surviving. Both films also have important characters named "The Major." Both main characters encounter dead co-workers in their own apartments. World peace and assasins are essential ingrediants in cooking both stories. And Central Park in Manhattan is utilized for great effect in both flicks. There are others. Happy hunting.

I can see that. Its very possible, I believe, that earlier films influenced the writers and directors of later ones. "Mirage" was very 60's. "Condor" was very 70's.

Side point: the guy in "Condor" who shoots an innocent man and is shot to death by Robert Redford is one "Michael Kane" (not Michael Caine), whose other more famous role was as Kirk Douglas' jailed buddy in "Lonely Are the Brave" (1962.) Boy did he age in 13 years!
