girls telephone number

Why when the police inspector gave Palmer the info on the targets car why did Palmer not give the policeman the girls phone number in return. I would not have thought that he could have called in another favour after letting the policeman down. That to me is a flaw

reply

He knew the policeman had a small penis and would disappoint the girl and his police friend would thereby be humiliated.

you are a cock

Oh get a sense of humor. I have real problems - I was looking for my copy of The Ipcress File yesterday and I must have lent it to someone, but I forgot who it was. So now I don't know who to even ask to get my tape back.

lent it to someone?? forgot who it was??
you really are a cock

reply

Uhh ... yeah, dude. I happen to have a huge collection of especially 60's and 70's movies on VHS and DVD. So people often borrow my films. I'm generous that way so excuse me if I don't make people check out my films like a public library. After a year or so, you forget who has each title.

reply

The REAL reason was that he didn`t want to share her. Also, what does a perfect stranger say to your girl when he rings her up? "Excuse me but Harry gave me your number......"

The cop would have got nowhere and Harry would have lost the girl.

reply

Ch*ist, I wouldn't want to have you as a friend, lbilbo! You'd never hook a buddy up. Good thing I'm married and don't have to count on people like you to play matchmaker. (That, and the fact that when I was single I had enough game ot go up to women myself. But I do have plenty of friends with not as much courage who I've gladly helped in the way Harry was entreated by the cop.)

You laddies are NOT PAYING ATTENTION. Remember the very opening scene where Palmer wakes up, reaches over to his left, and then finds the bed empty? Turning back the covers reveals firstly, an item of woman's jewellery, and second, his automatic pistol. Here's your clue. His girlfriend was still on the "active list." Would you pass on a confidential 'phone number in such circumstances?

I find some of the earlier remarks on this post very puerile.

P.S. I see Steve-1241 has had to wait two years for an answer to his question!

reply

Thanks Mate., that makes sense. I would rather wait 2 years for a good answer(yours) than get one straight away that is puerile(good word) thanks

I found it slightly disturbing that the gun was in the bed too. He turns over the pillows, pulls back the covers and finds the bracelet then finds the gun next to it. I don't know about you, but having sex knowing there is loaded gun in the bed would freak me out - that or our hero and his 'bird' were playing some very weird games the previous night.

Modern automatics (such as the PPK) all have "safety's" built into them. You can drop them on the floor and they won't fire, even when there is a cartridge in the chamber. Not that you are allowed to own such weapons since nanny State decided to confiscate them!

reply

The cop seemed to bear no grudge later on. I think Palmer plays little games, like facetious remarks on surveillance reports at the start of the film.
