GREAT movie

I'm watching this on TCM now (one of the FEW good channels on cable TV here in NYC) and I am blown away by how good this movie is. I've always enjoyed WW2 movies made in the 50s to the 60s but this tops them all. Even moreso than The Longest Day.

Agreed. I was surfing through and stumbled upon TCM showing of this movie...I couldnt move an inch. Ive never heard of this movie before...Im glad I got the chance to see it. Very fine character acting...what acting is all about..
