This movie features three actors who went on to play supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in James Bond movies: Donald Pleasence (Satan) in You Only Live Twice (1967), Telly Savalas (Pontius Pilate) in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), and Max Von Sydow (Jesus Christ) in Never Say Never Again (1983). Completely useless trivia, but kinda interesting...
Hmmm...Jessica Fletcher, Kojak, Sarek of Vulcan, Corporal Klinger, King Tut, Illya Kuryakin, Don Emilio Barzini, Rollin Hand, several Blofelds, Pat Boone, The Invisible Man, The Fly, Charlton Heston and Cornelius, John Wayne...
Damn, if not for all the Biblical stuff, this had the potential to be the most insane movie of all time. With a cast like that, it would've been The Greatest Story Ever Told for sure!!
You said a mouthful and there are even more than you have mentioned!! Even Barretta (Robert Blake), Cyrano (Jose Ferrer) Phantom of the Opera (Claude Rains), Oceans Eleven (Richard Conte), Murder She Wrote (Angela Lansbury), Rebel without a Cause (Sal Mineo), Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier), Mission Impossible (Martin Landau), the Professor (Russell Johnson), Cochise (Michael Ansara), Poseidon Adventure (Shelley Winters), Babes in Toyland (Ed Wynn), Musketeer Athos (Van Heflin) and Chief Wild Eagle (Frank DeKova) were all in this movie.
And don’t forget John Considine, Michael Tolan and all the others. Also Alfred Newman’s musical score is almost hypnotic.
This movie had more stars in it than there are over Los Angeles! Oops. Bad example. Too much smog to see them but you get the idea.
