The Godfather is really just a soap opera for guys. All the plotting and maneuvering, all the backstabbing and treachery . . . it's like a Shakespearean tragedy without all the fancy language.

I disagree. The Godfather is a great story but not the greatest ever told. Consider that the story of Jesus has affected the lives of people for almost 2,000 years. Some think the story is myth yet even that does not reduce its impact on western civilization.
