Claudia (Pilate's wife)?
How many scenes is she in? I saw it on tv and I only saw 1, but it had commercials so I figured it had been edited. Angela Lansbury is playing her, so I figured she would have more than one line. Thanks all!

shareI don't recall any scenes with her in them. I saw the film's original Cinerama release and have watched it several times. I can't recall any association of any woman with Pilate (Telly Savales). If she's in any of the prints I've watched, she doesn't have a speaking role. The only women I can think of are Herodius and Salome.
shareWhile I can recall a scene where Telly Savalas was speaking to her, she may have only replied to him with a single word. In truth, I never realized that it was Angela Lansbury portraying Claudia until now! Quite a number of well known actors in the film had little more than 2 minutes in front of the camera. I first saw the film over 40 years ago (and several times since) and I just now realized that Robert Loggia played Joseph! I guess I will have to watch it again.
shareOne would assume there was more of her part left on the cutting room floor given the account of Claudia in Matthew encouraging Jesus' release as well as later traditions that have her becoming a Christian. As it is, the final cut only has her in the one scene back to camera as she and Pilate are looking out at the quiet night scene and her one line, "I don't hear anything."
Richard Conte as Barabbas also must have had material left on the cutting room floor since he is only visible in one close shot and then one long shot of him as he's released.
She's in the shadows in the one scene she's in, and I think she has one line of dialogue.
