I know this is very late, but it just showed again on Aussie TV ... It's a laff-riot.
But you ARE Blanche ... and I AM.
A laff riot? Hardly, if one actually knows something of actual Scripture which it shows a remarkable fidelity to that was rare for Biblical epics. Compared with genuinee laff riots like the 2000 CBS miniseries "Jesus" the magnificence of this film on all levels is only more evident with each passing year.

Well, to each his own, but when I think of a "laff riot" in film, I think of the Marx Brothers, Laurel & Hardy, Danny Kaye, etc. Now, I can understand someone not liking TGSET, or even any film based on the life of Christ (though this does not include me) . . . but, "a laff riot"? Whew! Doesn't seem to compute on "any" level -- for me, at least.
