In this movie it shows Mary of Magdala (magdalene) pouring ointment on Jesus . I thought it was Mary of Bethany.
shareThere are two accounts in the Bible about a woman annointing Jesus. One is stated to be Mary of Bethany, who annointed Him with perfumed ointment. The other woman, who annointed Him with repentant tears, is not named but is identified as a sinful adulterous woman. Mary Magdalene, who had been adulterous, is pictured here as having annointed Him with the perfume. In the very last shot, Mary and Martha of Bethany are also there on either side of Jesus. This picture has taken a few liberties, combining some events and statements with others.

The New Testament books mention several Marys and at times it is easy to become confused as to which one is being referenced.
