The Cast

I really think the cast makes this movie so very good. And not just the main players...though it truly is a great lineup: Curtis, Woods, Lemmon and Falk.

If you poay attention you will see a veritable cornucopia of television and movie supporting actors and actresses. Vivian Vance, Keenan Wynn, Larry Storch, Denver Pyle...to name a few.

Also...there are many others who you surely know if you watch movies from the time period...even if you do not know the names. Guys like Clegg Hoyt and Joe Palma...and Riordan, who was a bit actor in just about every 60s beach movie made. hehe.

But this was a very talented and accomplished cast, and it shows. The movie has a tone or feel to it that is greater than the writing or plot...and even greater than any one actor (though Jack Lemmon is an amazing actor and has the ability to make any movie great)...and I blame this on the collective cast.

What a movie! I know it is cliched, but they don't make em like this anymore.

This movie is one of my very favourites! I'm a very big fan of Jack Lemmon. I love his performance in this movie. I have it on DVD! I think Jack was well paired with Natalie Wood! Such amazing chemistry!

And I love Jack with Tony Curtis in "Some Like It Hot" (1959) too!

I am glad to see that other people love this movie as I do. It is the greatest epic comedy ever along with It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. The movie has the best top 5 billing for any movie ever made. Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, Natalie Wood, Peter Falk & Keenan Wynn.

As stated above, it also co-stars Arthur O'Connell,Vivian Vance, Larry Storch, Denver Pyle, Ross Martin & Dorothy Provine. All of the actors I speak of are perfect for their roles. It is amazing how well this movie was cast and how well each of them work off each other.

Finally I am glad to see that this movie has such a high rating of 7.0. Usually movies I really love are in the mid 5's or 6's.

It is very tough to pick my favorite actor in the film, but I will go with Jack Lemmon because the two parts he play are equally great.
