Rue Mouffetard and Place de la Contrescarpe

Anyone else notice the location shooting in Paris as the autos race toward the finish line included shots of the cars zooming up Rue Mouffetard and around Place de la Contrescarpe on the Left Bank? This is just before the classic shot of Professor Fate's vehicle bouncing down Sacre Coeur's steps. The architecture along the Mouffe & Contrescarpe goes back to early 19th c. I'm guessing. It was probably easy for Edwards to close off these particular streets for a day to get the shots.

I just watched it. I think you are right. I never would have made the connection, as the locations are so far apart.

A few weeks ago, armed just with Google street-view and the DVD, I painstakingly traced out all the streets used.

As expected, it doesn't make much sense in real life...
