I don't know what this movie costs to make, but in todays dollars it would probably be a billion kajillion dollars. Too bad that these great movies cannot be made anymore. I have great memories of this movie . When it came on a sunday night the whole family would gather around to watch it. Instead of trying to remake these great movies They should be reissued on the big screen periodically.
That sounds like a great idea. The bean counters would probably be doing it if it were feasible. They are the "artists" behind movies these days. There is, no doubt, something we don't know.

Well, if the estimated production cost of $12mil is correct than the cost would equate to $93.7mil in 2015 ($78mil in 2007 when you posted this).
