Harassed?

Found this in the trivia section.. Any truth to this? Hadn't heard this before:

Natalie Wood reportedly did not like making this film, and would seize upon any excuse to miss a day's filming. Her main complaint was the fact that she felt she was being sexually harassed by both Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.

Funny, I just noticed this tonight, too (having come here after just watching the made for TV movie about her, "The Mystery of Natalie Wood").

I've never heard anything about this before... It's additions on IMDB like this that I'd really like to see a footnote for where the source of the information came from, kinda like how Wikipedia does it.

People believe what they want to believe. One term for this is Faith. Another is Delusion.

I recently read the book Natasha, and it's true The Great Race wasn't one of her favorite films to shoot. Reasons being the shoot went way over schedule and she was afraid of being typecast into comedy having just shot Sex and the Single Girl.

However, there's no mention of any kind of harassment from either Tony Curtis or Jack Lemon.

reply

Yeah. No disrespect against Curtis, but he'd seem more the type to possibly harass someone.. Maybe even by accident. I've read he liked to romance his co-stars. But Lemmon was kind of a shock (if true). He never struck me as the type.. I think imdb might want to check that fact

I've just read Tony Curtis' autobiography (American Prince), and in there he says that he and Natalie were friends before and during the shoot, and that Natalie seduced him in her trailer after filming some of the iceberg scenes...
(pages 252-253 in the paperback edition), and they remained very friendly after this, so I think that trivia item is rubbish.

I'm skeptical about that trivia note, also. I don't know much about Curtis, but I've heard a lot of people talk about Jack Lemmon and he was supposed to be one of the nicest persons in Hollywood.
