Location of rail line Fate uses as shortcut after Boracho?

Between everyone leaving Boracho, and Leslie stopping at Grommet for gas, Fate tries to take a shortcut over a railway bridge, and ends up being chased by a steam locomotive.
The locomotive is "Sierra Number 3" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_No._3
so it must be somewhere on the "Sierra Railroad" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Railroad
probably near Jamestown or Sonora.
As I have written here: http://leslie-special.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5
it's actually the same bit of track used at the start and end of the scene, but manipulated to look different.

I've searched as well as I can using Google Earth and Street View, but I can't locate that bit of track.
Does anyone local to the area recognise it?
Of course, it could have changed massively since 1964....

n.b. There does NOT appear to be a camera cut between the Hannibal 8 disappearing around the bend, and moments later re-appearing on the front of the locomotive.
There must have been two Hannibal 8's, and the first one simply drove off the track as soon as it rounded the bend. This would have required split-second timing to avoid a head on collision during filming!
I'd love to see what is really around that corner.

The later shots are probably about midday, and the shadows are going from left to right,
so the camera is probably looking west, and the track curves to the south as it goes around the bend.

It's roughly here on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/ShV3mESnELL2
