As much as a sequel would have been delightful, we can be grateful for this gem on its own.
Absolutely! It makes you treasure the movie even more because there is only one of it, as much as a sequel would be very welcomed had it been made. I mean, The Great Race was hugely successful at the box office (according to Wikipedia, it was the sixth highest earning movie of the year).
A lot of people say this movie is far too long in it's length (two hours and twenty minutes) but I personally barely notice the length because I enjoy every second of it. I want more, if I'm honest! Some films back then were something like four hours! Now that would be great!
