Vic Mizzy soundtrack of GMC

If you're a fan of Ghost- I cannot stress enough the fabulous CD which has been released by Percepto records. I was shooting a pilot at Universal in May, and everyone wondered where I got the fabulous music streaming out of my truck!! This is the best music that Dr. Mizzy has ever done, and having started in the business as a Tour Guide at Universal some 25 years ago, I remember pointing out all of the houses on the backlot where GMC was shot. Truly this CD is a must for any Don Knotts fan. Atta boy Luther!!! Knotts Rules!!!!

omegamania44,

You're a man after my own heart! (Pardon me for assuming your gender if you are female!) Working on the Universal lot and playing TGAMC music, plus having been a tour guide- very good stuff! I'd love to talk about backlot history with you sometime (I have a lot of otherwise-useless Universal backlot into stored up in my brain!).

Getting back to the subject, I couldn't agree more. I just received my TGAMC soundtrack yesterday and its amazing. The music is fabulous! Additionally, the liner-notes booklet is so thick, it doesn't really fit into the CD case. This little book is worth the price of the CD itself. Its packed with stories about the making of the movie, both from the point of view of the composer as well as Don Knotts and the director and producer.

If you are a fan of the movie, you MUST get this CD!

This is wonderful news! I am a big fan of the movie and Mr. Knotts, and I have been looking for this music for years! Perfect music to play at Halloween too. Thank you both very much.

awwww, man!!! ...just wish I had heard of this before Halloween. I'll definately buy this, and hopefully I'll live long enuf to enjoy it in October 2006. I've always loved that errie organ piece, and TGAMC is still a lot of fun.

I wonder if Dr. Mizzy would publish the piece? It seems it would be popular for music teachers and students around halloween, or for organ demo concerts.

Gee, I was really surprised to learn that the jaunty main title theme was not composed by Vic Mizzy, but instead is a tune from the 1930s called "Mr. Ghost Goes to Town", composed by Will Hudson, Irving Mills & Mitchell Parish (according to www.allmusic.com). If you want to hear it, go to www.youtube.com and search for "Mr. Ghost Goes to Town".
