Nod to Fellini?
Fellini was notorious for including large-breasted women in his defining films, and none more memorable than Saraghina. He seemed to be fascinated with all types, and his juxtapositions of the beautiful and grotesque, the sacred and the profane, are sincere homage, not lurid freakshow fetish. Saraghina and, in "Amarcord", Volpina, wield immense power over young boys as the fulfillment of exaggerated adolescent sexual appetites.
Does anyone else suppose the connection between Saraghina and Meyer's women, most obviously Tura Satana's character, Varla?
