What is Haji's ethnicity?

I am fascinated with Haji's look. In the film she seems to be playing an Italian (with a bad accent of course) but in real life what is her ethnic background? She looks Latina, maybe Persian... who knows? I can't find any information on her background.

She's apparently.... Quebcois. (Yes, I know, WTF?)

I think she is English since her surname is Downes. There are many Anglo Quebecois living in the province. Apparently, her Web site is offline now.

She's French Canadian. It says so in her autobiography.

Quebecois tend to be. Although some don't like the Canadian bit.

She is half British, half Filipino, 100% gorgeous. She was my favourite.
