how comes this movie's got 6.6?
I think it deserves a minimum 7.5!

yeah agree this is really cool and intersting movie.
shareIt's because popular opinion is rarely the correct one, especially these days it seems when it comes to movies.
sharethe world is getting more bi-polar by the second.

I second that! And No damn remake, either!
You! Off my planet!
100% in agreement. As soon as I see Tarantino's name being cited in reference to any real exploitation movie, I know I'm dealing with a neophyte. If Tarantino's movies had half the originality of this movie (make that one-tenth) I might like them better.
In terms of the adage "mediocre artists borrow, great artists steal," Tarantino is a total borrower. His main "talent" is taking bits from other (usually more entertaining) movies, putting them in a blender, and presenting them as his own creative work so that MST3K-suckled fanboys can point out which movies he's referencing. This is not a substitute for true artistic vision, which Faster, Pussycat! has in spades.
And to all the people complaining how bad or poorly made this movie is, you also obviously have little experience with exploitation. To use an overused cliché, there are literally hundreds of exploitaton movies that make this look like Citizen Kane on every level. Not to mention thousands of "straight" movies, particularly in the last 20 years or so.
BTW, Death Proof was one of the most excruciating movies I've ever seen. Other than the opening credits sequence (which I'll admit was pretty well done), I found it boring (the ultimate sin in an exploitation movie), with embarrassingly self-reflexive dialogue, and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Even the stunts were dull and unexciting. QT should just let Rodriguez direct all his movies (Planet Terror blew the socks off any Tarantino movie to date, and captured the classic exploitation feel much better than DP).
Films like this, and the rating they often get, shows the biggest flaw in IMDBs rating system. Because the more votes of any rating a film gets, the better. Yet a movie that gets a bunch of tens, and nothing below a 4/10 somehow ends up with a paltry 6.7/10. It doesn't make sense. 10/10 btw.
shareI also wonder that. This movie was awesome for what it is. Forget the 6.7, this needs to be in the top 250!!!
sharei gave it a 10
shareI gave it a 10/10. I love this movie. Even if it had a rating of 1 (which it never will because it is a timeless classic) I would still love it.
I've been waiting for you, Ben.
Every movie ever made by Russ Meyer deserves a minimum of +1.0 from their original rating.

Any film with this much cleavage and dangerous curves is a certified 10.
The racing cars, fighting, slick editing, solid cinematography, quotable dialogue with strange and memorable characters is overkill.
It's off the charts. An 15/10.
