Seeking DVD Full Screen Version

I have Prince of Darkness on DVD, but the only problem is, it's the widescreen version, which I hate as the picture is too small on my 42" TV.

Please can anybody tell me if there are any dvds that feature the FULL screen version?

I found one on Sumogorilla.com, along with some extras. It was reasonably priced at 12.98 plus S&H.

Many of those on Amazon are over priced although I saw a collection (4) of Dracula films available for around $6 for the used DVD. many of the others are over $40 which is crazy.

So a full screen dvd version of Dracula Prince of Darkness actually exists? That's good, as I was beginning to give up all hope of EVER finding one.

I will check out the site you referred me to.

Sorry, my DVD is a wide screen version (as it states on the box). My apologies if I confused you. But it certainly is an excellent movie and DVD (quality)...

Is the picture quality good on these movies from this site? And they are not copies, are they? I ask this because you do have to be careful sometimes of such sites, some of which often sell dvds which have been recorded off VHS.

Had a look at Prince of Darkness anyway, and it looks great!

I have only bought one DVD from them (and that was b/c I didn't want to pay $40 for a DVD that I had on VHS already. The quality was very good and the DVD cover was professional. I'm not an expert on such things but I would say this is an original DVD (not reproduced). I saw last night they had two more available. I am happy with my purchase...

Why would you want a fullscreen version of a film shot in scope? There would be alot of lost picture information.

reply

Some dvd players have a zoom-in function, so you can enlarge the image. A good player can do that without loss of quality.

I do zoom in with my dvd, but the picture quality becomes somewhat blurry and so detracts from my enjoyment of the movie.
