Just saw it again this morning on Cinemax. Ah, memories.

Good story, good acting, good film. Doesn't this remind you of Misery, or vice versa? Maybe Misery was inspired by this? The plot is almost similar. Good performances by everyone involved. See this film.

I saw the last little bit of this movie "years" ago on Encore when I lived near Savannah, GA.
It was shortly after I had had an "incident" myself.

At the end, I noticed the reference to the book it was based on and made a b-line to the library for it.
So obscure they had to get a copy sent in from another...lol

At any rate, it's one of those books/movies that has stayed with me since...going on 12 years...(why is that)??
I was also shocked to know it was the same actor who played General Zod...what versatility!!

Just had to add my 2-cents.....awesome movie...mesmerizing!!

**have seen the movie, in full, several times since then...

I think several books and films in the suspense/thriller genre were inspired by this. I see echoes in Silence of the Lambs, Kiss the Girls, The Vanishing, Wait Unitl Dark. Misery could easily be among those. Actually Stephen King cited it as a favorite film of his so it's possible it influenced him
