Why is the ending of THE CININNATI KID that is on the dvd release different to the original theatrical release? The theatrical release ended when Steve Mcqueen walked down the ally way. In the DVD release he meets up with Tuesday Weld. Is it to give the film a happy ending?

Have just logged in. It's been a couple of months since I posted about the ending of THE CINCINNATI KID and was glad to find your responce.It annoys me that the ending has been altered for whatever reason. I fortunately or unfortunately am older enough to have seen the original release and possess a very early video release that has the original ending. Was going to upgrade to a DVD but not now.
