Someone please tell me!!

In the scene with Shooter at Slade's house, why is Slade's little boy in a
pink robe, and his little girl in a blue robe?

This has puzzled me for a long time!!!

Now I know that today, you see men in pink shirts and ties; but although
the setting for this movie is 1930, and it was shot in 1965, even during these time frames, little boys would normally wear blue and little girls in pink.

Anybody out there have any inside info?

I thought they were both girls. In 1960 my mother cut a little girl's hair just like the child's in the pink robe. Altho' the film is ostensibly set in the 30s, the ladies had 1965 hair and clothes. So it's not a stretch that this was a little girl's 1960 haircut.

But if that was to be a boy, well I recall reading that in the early 20th C, little boys typically had pink christening gowns.

Who knows???

Maybe just a way to get across another of Slade's various quirks. The film never makes clear how, or where he got his money from. Maybe by marrying it. His servant obviously does more than fix steak and salad.
