Does anyone ever think

That Lancey "had him" either all along, or at least from when "ladyfingers" started dealing cards honestly?

He might have been playing "rope a dope" to set him up for the big kill. You notice Lancey gets a second wind during the final hand, even though he is looking like he is being beat down just before....just sayin'

You are very much on the right track . . . however, there is more, much more . . . analyzes a bit more deeply . . .

Lancey knew the kid wanted to take him down big. So, he knew he only needed one big hand to set up the kid. Plus, as we found out, he had much more money than the kid did. In a no limit game that is a huge advantage because he knew he could outlast him and wait for the big hand.
