Just got done watching this again
And I still can't figure out how this got made, or how Lee marvin got an Oscar for it
ALL the performances sucked in relation to anything else nominated that year
Nat and Stubby were the best parts of the whole damn movie
I agree with others that Olievier wasn't that good and neither was Burton
But Oscar Werner gave a great performance, and Rod Steiger gave a powerfull performance
I don't even see this as a movie of the week on TV
So I wish one of you who seem to love this film would elucidate me on it's supposed greatness
In a world where a carpenter can be resurrected, anything is possible.
