What about Michael Callan?? Anybody think he was hot??

He was very nice looking and sexy as all get out!! (Or am the only one who thought so?)

reply

obviously thought he was!

Hi! My name's Mike, and I'm a recovering Demi-basher.

In 1965 I was 15 and Michael Callan was on the cover of all the fan mags. He was dreamy. I followed his career for years but he gradually faded from view. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who tingles when he turns up.

reply

Oh no, you are not the only one!!I have always had a crush on him-and he was also in one of the Gidget movies. He was a really fabulous dancer and he also danced in "Pepe" which was on the other day on TMC-talk about SEXY. He was also on the other day on TMC in "Because They're Young" that was an interesting movie from that era about teens. I was channel surfing the other day and he turned up in a tv show from 80's, probably Simon & Simon-still looked pretty good, albeit, nobody stays the same. But I find he is very underrated when people discuss heart throbs from back then.

Perfectly cast as the sexy dude he was. He was on stage in the original production of WEST SIDE STORY. His name was, I believe, Mickey Kalen but he changed it.

"Thank you, thank you--you're most kind. In fact you're every kind."

Oh yeah.

He added greatly to the sexual chemistry of this story.

reply

Absolutely! He was super sexy from his first scene! And Cat fell instantly!

reply

Oh my, he was probably my first movie/celebrity crush. I've been watching this movie since I was a kid (I kind of still am a kid but not as much as when I was 13, I'm 21 now). Every time I watch it I swoon just as soon as Callan appears!

reply

He's the perfect crush for a teen girl in the mid sixties. Cute but not threatening.

Hot, Hot, HOT! I loved the scenes between him and Fonda in the train berth, when he snuck into her bed back at the ranch, and at the end in the stage coach. Their chemistry crackled!

This reply is YEARS too late! If you're still around...I LOVED your post about Michael Callan on Cat Ballou! As wonderful as the rest of the movie is, I only have eyes for Clay! You are right, Jane and Michael's chemistry did crackle! How about the scene in which she told Clay she loved him? "Love is NOT blind! I see all your faults and I know what you're like, and I don't CARE, I love ya anyway!" THUD, SWOON!
