Carry on Groucho
Oddly, I'd never seen "Cowboy" before (though I've seen many "Carry on" films). Is it just me, or is much of Sid James' delivery very Groucho Marx-like in this one? I'm certainly not saying this is a bad thing!

sharePart Groucho Marx with the quips.
Its that man again!!
I've always just thought of it as a bad American accent. Groucho's was pure New York, whereas James' is "all-purpose" American. I suppose, combined with the quips there would be something of a similarity, but he certainly doiesn't have Groucho's machine-gun delivery.
No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.
I haven't really got that connection. I will say that Kenneth Williams has the delivery of the saloon owner from 'Calamity Jane' in this movie.
