Another Bulge film someday?

For all I know this has already been discussed here or elsewhere but I am curious anyway. Is there any talk of another film being made about the Battle of the Bulge? I don't think remake would be the correct term as I would envision some film maker trying to achieve a more accurate portrayal. And don't get me wrong, I've always liked this film since I was a kid when it was released. However, the real story is very compelling and I could envision it being as big of a blockbuster as Saving Private Ryan. Hanks and Spielberg, are you listening?

When Trumpets Fade (1998) good film.

Never saw When Trumpets Fade, but it looks very interesting. I'll have to see if it's available on Netflix.

I guess my initial question speaks more to another movie about The Battle of the Bulge as a whole. I'm thinking that would probably best be done as a mini-series, like Band of Brothers, to do it justice.

As I was looking at the IMDb page for Trumpets, it seems like this was possibly set in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest, pre-Bulge? Appreciate the recommendation; I'll have to check it out.

Sorry my mistake, thought the German counter-offensive in this movie was part of the Battle of the Bulge.

No problem and I'm not sure that's the case. Found it on Netflix, so I look forward to seeing it in a couple of days.

Don't get me wrong, I like this film, but it is not the definitive movie about the Battle of the Bulge. That was done 16 years earlier in 1949 and was titled Battleground. Then there were the last 40 minutes or so of Patton, and episodes 6 and 7 of Band of Brothers. This movie is a decent fictional WWII shoot 'em up, but history it ain't!

Well Tom, THIS Battle is so huge & complex it probably should get the 'Band of Brothers' Miniseries/'Longest day tell all sides' treatment....

Then again I've also felt 'The Longest Day/Battle for Normandy/France' should also get a mini treatment...
