Just realized why I like this film - rsgre

As mentioned earlier, bought a copy at Wal-Mart and glad to see it uncut and in widescreeen. Very well made film that looks better with age. Cast is tops, acting is excellent, give the director Ken Anniken the credit he deserves for his effort. This a man's film, if there ever was one, and demonstrates so well the "combat mode" deep inside us, and the willingness to believe in a cause so strongly that you are willing to give your life for it. Maybe men have changed now, but in the old world,this was a "badge of honor" that you wore right up to the end (unless you were a wimp). That moment when they all join in song and express their acceptance, crystalises that common bond. Might have more...
