Great Cast Equals One Mediocre War Movie!

The Battle Of The Bulge featured an A-list cast of well known actors
including Henry Fonda, Dana Andrews, Robert Ryan, Robert Shaw,
Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas, Ty Hardin and a young, pre-Five-0
James McCarthur. I watched the movie last weekend on TCM and there
was even an intermission as well. Now with all of these talented
stars in the cast then why was the writing so poor and mediocre?
I would have expected a much better movie overall about one of
World War II's well known battles between american soldiers versus
nazi tanks and english speaking germans. Imho the final cut was so
medicre! Though I really do not see the need for any remake.
