The climactic battle of this turkey turns on the Germans' need for fuel for their tanks, so they try to reach the store of gasoline in the fuel depot. Only problem is that their tanks were Diesel powered. My dad was in the 4th Armored, the division that broke into Bastogne. Fortunately he never saw this piece of claptrap (polite word). If he had, he probably would have gone hunting for the screenwriter, producer and everyone else responsible.
shareI gave this Claptrap 3 stars for those very reasons. It was like the Germans said OK no fuel ... everybody out ... lets walk home ... end of battle. Remarkably not one Allied plane is shown attacking the Germans! Remarkably the film totally misrepresents the influence of winter weather on the battle! Remarkably there is acknowledgement that this was a 6 week battle in which over 40,000 people lost their lives. Here's to your Dad and here's to those who made this POS film!
