A Little Trivia on Honey West (1965)

ONE: This half hour series had its pilot in the one-hour existing crime series "Burke's Law"(1963-1965) in which suave millionaire Amos Burke(suave Gene Barry) doubled as an active police captain on the LAPD out of his Beverly Hills mansion, romancing a different woman each week while solving an all-star whodunnit involving a mix of old-time stars(Lizabeth Scott, Steve Cochran) and new personalities(Paul Lynde, The Smothers Brothers.)

Anne Francis as Honey West and John Ericson as her partner Sam Bolt "debuted" in the 1965 Burke's Law episode "Who Killed The Jackpot? in the 64/65 TV season and Honey West went to series in 65/66. I don't recall Gene Barry ever doing a guest shot on Honey West.

TWO: Stars Anne Francis and John Ericson here re-united about 10 years after co-starring under Spencer Tracy in "Bad Day at Black Rock"(1955) a modern-day Western about Tracy confronting murderous bigots in an isolated desert town after WWII. I believe they play brother and sister. Its weird seeing Honey and Sam as brother and sister.

THREE: In the 2019 Quentin Tarantino movie "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," set in 1969, Brad Pitt's stuntman character Cliff Booth lives with his dog in a tiny trailer behind a drive-in movie theater. We see Pitt watching TV in that trailer ("Mannix") and there is a prominent poster of Anne Francis in a swimsuit on his wall. She's wearing a leopard print swimsuit kind of like her Honey West Ocelot. As a matter of "fictional biography," I figure that Cliff Booth has that poster up because he maybe did stunt work on Honey West and...maybe had an affair with Anne Francis. Total conjecture on my part!
