I noticed in one episode, when Hogan and his gang had to stop of fuel truck from delivering its contents to the Nazi's. In the episode, in Hogan's quarters, in the barracks, Sgt Carter has to shoot a flaming arrow out a window onto the canopy of the fuel truck. Carter misses. Corporal Newkirk then tries and makes it. In the next scene, Hogan and Carter and Newkirk fall in for roll call. The truck has not passed by yet. Two minutes later, as Klink is lecturing the prisoners, the truck passes by, on fire, and then explodes. Hogan's barracks is just feet away from where they are standing and the fuel truck passes by? Seems like an editing problem.

I remember the episode. Possibly one of the truck passengers heard the arrow and the truck momentarily stopped, and shined a light around the road to see if there was anyone or anything around before resuming?

I recall the episode but don't know its title. My recollection is that they shot the arrow from Hogan's window, which looks out opposite from the front door of the barracks, through which the prisoners go for roll call. I can't recall how far away the truck is, but I'm thinking that it's driving outside the fence on the other side of the camp, so it has to drive halfway around the perimeter, and by that time it is seen driving behind Klink a couple of minutes later. In other words, I did not regard it as a goof.

it's the episode Drums Along the Dusseldorf (#3.30)...it's a 60 yard distance from the window to the truck...Hogan says the truck should be passing the front gate in about a minute as they're leaving his office...it's actually 35 seconds from the arrow hit to the truck reappearing. I agree, it's not a goof.

Thanks for the info. I've started a re-watch of HH, and in fact Disc 2 of Season Three arrived from Netflix today, so I'll be getting to "Dusseldorf" in a few discs.

The goof should be that if you look at a map of the Stalag (normally in Klink's quarters), there are many barracks located behind the one across from Klink's headquarters (presumably Hogan's), so how could Hogan's barracks be within view of the road?

As far as goofs, there are a lot of anachronisms. I'm just getting into season 2. Some of the trucks they use are obviously newer than the 1940's, in fact one I noticed was a GMC from the 50's. And I know a little about cameras, and cringe every time Carter comes out with a Pentax SLR from the '60's. At least he covered up the logo with his finger. And Kinch was using a Minox spy camera with AG-1 flash attachment. The tiny AG-1 bulbs weren't available then, nor was any Minox with flash connector. And round doorknobs. In Europe they always used oval doorknobs or handles.

Movies weren't always accurate either. Kelly's Heroes also took place during World War 2 and Donald Surherland's character was a '60s hippy.

Yeah, and I never could figure out how he played that music over loudspeakers on a tank in an era of tubes and phonograph records. You would think the needle would skip.

There was an episode when the gang was on the radio speaking to London, and at the conclusion of the transmission, the British officer back in London said he would "put it on Col hogan's tab". I can't recall the episode, but that violated all kinds of operational security.

One of my all-time favorite anachronisms was the episode where a telephone pole conveniently appears outside Klink's office window as a needed plot device -- right exactly where his front porch should be -- and of course it's never either seen from the outside or ever mentioned again. I think it was in Season 4's "Will The Real Colonel Klink Please Stand Up Against the Wall".

I like the one about the gold bars in season 1, where the team coats some gold bars in orange so they look like normal bricks and then they replace the wooden stairs to Klink's office with what looks like brick stairs. In the next episode the bricks are gone, the wooden stairs are back and noone seems to notice.
