I must agree with you, trollomatic, with respect to Sam Drucker being funny on this show.
I remember when he got dressed in a stripped suit to go on a picnic with the Douglasses. He looked like a side-show barker but it was perfectly normal to Sam. And he acted so "normal" it just brougth a smile to my face.
A terrific, very subtle performance.
The ensemble cast was perfect. Albert and Gabor were a fantastic comic team. Eva Gabor was a riot. The use of her eyes, her hand gestures, the way she kind of threw her body into a room.
This show started out kind of boring -- a reverse The Beverly Hillbillies the big CBS hit show. But once it turned into what I can only describe now as the 60's version of Twin Peaks and went just plain nuts, it really hit its stride.
Very funny show and it holds up so well today.
